The Yobe State Government plans to reintegrate former Boko Haram members who have undergone de-radicalization, rehabilitation, and reintegration programs under Operation Safe Corridor (OPSC).
The state governor, Mai Buni, made the announcement during a meeting with OPSC representatives led by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa.
The governor acknowledged the devastating impact of the 15-year insurgency in Yobe State and emphasized the need for a non-kinetic approach to address its root causes.He assured that his administration will adopt and implement OPSC recommendations to achieve the desired objectives.

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management will oversee the reintegration process.Meanwhile 390 former insurgents, including 54 Yobe indigenes, are set to graduate from the De-radicalisation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (DRR) program between April 14 and 19.
Gen. Christopher Musa stressed the importance of community involvement in sustaining the reintegration process. He appealed for expanded de-radicalization centers, vocational training facilities, and modern equipment to enhance rehabilitation.
The governor appreciated President Bola Tinubu’s approach to ending insurgency and major crimes in the North.
Gen. Musa appreciated the governor’s commitment to de-radicalization and reintegration efforts, saying that community support will encourage more insurgents to surrender.
