Delta hotel manager conspires with two others to murder lodger
The Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, on Friday, March 28, 2025, narrated how a hotel manager conspired with two men to kill a lodger after he was promised the sum of N5 million by the men.
Edafe disclosed this on his X handle on Friday afternoon in a video where he interrogated the men, just as he added that the police in the state became aware of the incident because the lodger’s wife was informed by her husband before checking into the hotel.
According to Edafe, the incident occurred at the Century Hotel, Owhelogbo in the Isoko North Local Government Area of the state some hours after the deceased, whose name was given simply as Sunday, lodged there.
It was gathered that when the deceased checked into the hotel, he called his wife in Lagos and told her the name of the hotel where he lodged.
Shortly thereafter, two men, whose names were given simply as Johnson and Clement, were said to have met the hotel manager, whose name was given as Godwin Oghenechukwu, and told him they wanted to see the man.
The two men were said to have gone inside the hotel room after promising to give the manager the sum of N5 million.
They then stabbed the lodger to death, while the hotel manager pretended as if nothing had happened.
However, when the man’s wife called her husband and could not reach him, she became worried and contacted his family members on phone in Delta State, giving them the name of the hotel her husband lodged in.
The family members visited the hotel and when they inquired about the whereabouts of the deceased, the manager denied that he lodged there.

The relations thereafter reported the matter at the police station and it was when the policemen arrested the manager that he confessed that the deceased actually lodged in the hotel and gave further details about what transpired between him and the two men.
According to Edafe, following the incident, the said hotel was set on fire by an angry mob.
