The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has launched a specialized medical screening team to prioritize the health and well-being of prospective pilgrims in preparation for the 2025 Hajj.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the agency’s headquarters in Sokoto, represents a pivotal moment in the state’s efforts to ensure a successful Hajj operation.
In a statement released by Faruku Umar, the Head of Information and Communication for the agency, the Chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, emphasized the importance of the task, referring to it as a sacred trust.
He urged the screening team members to approach their responsibilities with sincerity, patience, and dedication.
Acting Executive Secretary Alhaji Ladan Ibrahim reinforced the agency’s commitment to the welfare of Sokoto pilgrims. Additionally, the Director of Operations, Alhaji Abubakar Chika, reminded the medical team of their duty to serve diligently and with reverence to Allah.
Dr. Bello Attahiru, who will lead the screening team, assured everyone that they are fully equipped to provide comprehensive medical care and support during the Hajj preparations.
The screening process is scheduled to commence on Saturday, starting with intending pilgrims from the Wamakko and Silame Local Government Areas.
