Pep Guardiola Vows Manchester City Will Bounce Back Next Season
Pep Guardiola has assured fans that Manchester City will return stronger next season despite their struggles this campaign. The reigning Premier League champions, who won an unprecedented four consecutive titles, currently trail league leaders Liverpool by 12 points. Additionally, City’s Champions League hopes hang by a thread following a 4-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, where they squandered a two-goal lead.
Guardiola, who has secured 18 trophies since taking over at the Etihad in 2016, expressed confidence in his team’s ability to recover as they focus on securing a spot in next season’s Champions League. Speaking ahead of their Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday, Guardiola acknowledged the challenging season but remained optimistic.
“We are not the best positioned in the circumstances, absolutely,” said Guardiola. “I’m not stupid enough to not know what are our standards and level. Everybody knows it.
“Still, I believe they are a fantastic group of players, as we have proven in seven, eight, nine years. For two months of bad results, I’m not going to change the opinion.
“But I saw it many times — three months ago, two months ago, that this season we are going to suffer, and it’s happened. Still, next season we’ll be back, really.”
City face a must-win Champions League clash against Club Brugge on Wednesday to avoid elimination. However, Guardiola remains defiant, noting that missing out on Europe’s elite competition is not unprecedented.

“Many big clubs, like Chelsea right now, are not in the Champions League,” he said. “(Manchester) United are not the Champions League. It can happen to us, definitely, not being there.”
Despite their current challenges, Guardiola’s confidence in his squad suggests City are already gearing up for a resurgence in the upcoming season.
