Kano Horror: Bride Sl!ts Husband’s Throat Just Nine Days After Wedding

A shocking tragedy has rocked the Farawa community in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, where a newlywed woman, Saudat Jibrin Adam, has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband, Salisu Idris Ibrahim, just nine days after their wedding.

The horrifying incident took place late Monday night, leaving residents in disbelief. Eyewitness accounts suggest that Saudat lured her husband into a false sense of surprise before sl!tting his throat with a knife.

Dini Mada, a neighbour who was among the first to respond to the scene, said Salisu identified his wife as the attacker before succumbing to his injuries at the hospital.

“I asked him who did this, and he said, ‘Dini, it’s my wife. She stabbed me in the neck in the parlour.’ She had asked him to close his eyes for a surprise, not knowing she had a knife hidden,” Dini recounted.

According to him, Salisu’s mother, who lives in the adjoining house, raised the alarm after hearing a commotion. Thinking it was an intruder, neighbours rushed in only to find Salisu bleeding profusely from a throat wound.

The suspect reportedly locked herself inside a bedroom after the attack and was discovered by police during a sweep of the house.

“She was still on a phone call when officers found and arrested her. We didn’t even know she was still in the building,” Dini added.

Friends and neighbours say the couple appeared affectionate during their brief marriage, but insiders claim all was not well behind closed doors. Saudat allegedly refused to consummate the union and rarely cooked for her husband.

“Salisu had to buy gurasa and meat that night because she refused to prepare a meal again,” a close friend of the deceased shared.

The suspect had shown no signs of aggression previously, often accompanying her husband to visit relatives. Her sudden act of violence has left many stunned.

Salisu was rushed to the hospital following the attack but sadly passed away from his wounds. His brother, Tanimu Idris, confirmed that he has been buried according to Islamic traditions.

The Kano State Police Command is currently investigating the case. While no official statement has been released yet, spokesperson SP Abdullahi Kiyawa confirmed that inquiries are ongoing.
