GTBank Faces Mass Cash Withdrawals as Ratel Family Plans Peaceful Protest Over Alleged Unjust Treatment of VeryDarkMan

A viral video circulating on social media has sparked intense public reaction as a member of the Ratel community, Mark Vincent, announced a mass withdrawal campaign from GTBank over the alleged unfair treatment of popular social commentator, VeryDarkMan.

Speaking in a passionate two-minute video, Vincent revealed that he and Koko P had earlier attempted to deliver food to VeryDarkMan, who is currently in custody, but were initially denied access due to what was described as a “standing order.” However, after calls made by human rights lawyer Barrister Deji, they were eventually allowed to deliver the food.

“Everybody has been saying come out and protest, come out and protest… definitely we are coming out on Monday,” Vincent declared, emphasizing the unity and resolve of the Ratel community. “We are not coming to fight you people, but we are coming out in mass… we are coming to take what is rightfully ours, which is our money.”

Vincent accused GTBank of colluding with authorities in a manner that contributed to the arrest and alleged assault of VeryDarkMan. “You guys did the same thing to me some time ago… the best way you can actually provide solution is for you to leak VeryDarkMan’s money in your bank for the police to come apprehend them and beat them up,” he said.

He emphasized that the planned protest is not a traditional one involving street marches, but rather a strategic move to “do business on your ground” by withdrawing funds peacefully from GTBank branches, particularly at the Area 3 branch in Abuja.

“From Monday till the end of next week, back-to-back withdraw,” Vincent stated, warning GTBank of the financial impact of the coordinated action.

The incident has ignited public discourse on customer-bank relations and the potential abuse of financial power in Nigeria’s banking sector.

As of press time, GTBank has not issued an official response to the allegations or the planned mass withdrawal.
