Governor Bala Reshuffles Cabinet, Sacks Five Commissioners, and Nominates Eight New

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has announced a major cabinet reshuffle, removing five commissioners and nominating eight new candidates to fill key positions.

In a statement released Tuesday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the affected commissioners include:

– Dr. Jamila Muhammad Dahiru (Ministry of Education)

– Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu (Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs)

– Comrade Usman Danturaki (Ministry of Information and Communication)

– Professor Simon Madugu Yalams (Ministry of Agriculture)

– Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza (Ministry of Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation)

The statement read:

“In a strategic effort to reinvigorate governance and ensure optimal service delivery to the people of Bauchi State, His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has approved the reconstitution of his cabinet. In that respect, five commissioners were dropped.”

Governor Bala has also submitted eight nominees to the State Assembly for screening as new commissioners. The nominees include:

– Hon. Isa Babayo Tilde and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam (Toro Local Government)

– Abdullahi Mohammed (Misau Local Government)

– Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi (Dass Local Government)

– Usman Usman Shehu (Shira Local Government)

– Iliyasu Aliyu Gital and Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah (Tafawa Balewa Local Government)

– Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin (Darazo Local Government)

This development follows the resignation of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Ibrahim Mohammed Kashim, last month. While no official reason for his resignation was disclosed, Governor Bala has appointed Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, as the new SSG.

The governor’s media aide emphasized that the reshuffle is part of the administration’s efforts to inject fresh ideas and energy into governance, aligning with Governor Bala’s vision to strengthen the machinery of government in Bauchi State.
