40-Year-Old Woman stand trial for raping 12-Year-Old Boy

The Bauchi State Police Command has announced that a 40-year-old woman, Fatimah Ibrahim, will face trial for allegedly raping a 12-year-old boy.
The police arrested Fatimah, a resident of Tashan Jama’are in Katagum Local Government Area, after receiving a tip-off from a concerned citizen regarding the abuse of the boy, identified as Abubakar Yakubu (not his real name).
According to reports, the victim had been assisting Fatimah with her business and was subjected to inappropriate conduct over a period of more than two months.
The Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, stated that during an interview, the victim explained that he was given a mixture containing lemon juice before being sexually assaulted.
“On March 1, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM, a concerned resident from Katagum Local Government Area reported this serious incident to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Azare,” Wakil said.
“The victim shared that he trusted the defendant as a maternal figure, but was engaged in sexual acts, particularly when other visitors were absent.”
The boy revealed that he believed the lemon juice mixture was tampered with prior to the incidents.
He further reported enduring such abuse on multiple occasions while residing at the defendant’s home, where he was supposed to feel safe.
