2027: PDP governors strikes fresh deal with FCT ministers, Wike

Acting on behalf of the PDP Governors Forum, Makinde met with Wike in Lagos for a closed-door session aimed at resolving key party disputes.

Insiders familiar with the high-level talks disclosed to reporters that the agreement focuses on defusing the ongoing political turmoil in Rivers State a crisis that has pitted Wike against suspended Governor Sim Fubara. Additionally, the deal addresses lingering tensions over the PDP’s South-South zonal leadership and the prolonged vacancy in the party’s National Secretary position.

This intervention comes at a time when the PDP is grappling with internal discord that has persisted since its 2023 electoral setbacks.
